Columbus has a vibrant arts scene. Broadway shows, live music and comedy are among the offerings at locations like the Ohio Theatre, Palace Theatre, Southern Theatre, Lincoln Theatre and the Capitol Theatre. The Short North Arts District has numerous art galleries, restaurants, shopping and entertainment options; including the once a month Gallery Hop, a tour of art galleries and other destinations in the district. Named the best Arts Event in the state by Ohio Magazine, AmericanStyle Magazine also has named Columbus the #9 top Art Destination City in America. The Columbus Museum of Art features works from Monet, Matisse, Picasso, and Renoir as well as many traveling exhibitions. The Franklin Park Conservatory houses 400 species of plants from a variety of global climate zones. Franklin Park features various artists including Dale Chihuly and purchased a substantial portion of his works. Avant garde film and performing arts find their home at the Wexner Center, located on the Ohio State main campus. Community theatres include Shadowbox and the Columbus Children's Theatre. Organizations such as the Greater Columbus Arts Council and CAPA ensure a continued presence for the arts in Columbus.
